He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary's Werklund School of Education who specializes in teaching courses related to Indigenous Education, social justice, and educational philosophy. Dustin's work is recognized as being strength based providing a roadmap for change.

School Districts within the province have received a special update from the Ministry of Education and Child Care indicating that British Columbia will follow the lead of the federal government and join with other provinces in observing the National Day of Mourning to commemorate the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
